I swear, for some reason, I always read the instruction manuals, even for the games.

Could be but the only 3 flaws Nintendo did was
1) the Nintendo disc system for the NES
2) The 3D gameboy
3) The 64DD which pretty much was kinda the same mistake as the Mega CD and 32X
