I think they were trying to keep people to stop and think for themself and not what other people want them to do and alos the issue that are going on i dont think the band went down hill and if your a true fan you wont stop listen to them just because of one song. I think its funny how it's a song about how they had to seriously think about whether or not to take a big recording contract. The Stop! take some time part fits well for the message, but the rest of the lyrics about accepting awards and whatnot clearly don't fit.
And AM! still makes good music. Just in a different style slightly. They are still at the top of the heap. Face it, bands change. This is not mainstream pop crap by any stretch of the imagination. Ive heard it on the radio only once
