This TGV here was drastically modified for that purpose only. Absolutely non-standard and not usable for public transport. Voltage was increased to 31k (normal = 25k), larger wheels were installed and the motors and numerous other things uprated. No one gets to travel on that train in that config, and operating voltage is normally 25k as said. German ICE records achieved to date are all stock models with no mods at all and at normal operating voltage, regualr wheels etc, ie no mods at all.

SNCF doen t care to have tgv who can do 500kmph everyday...the most important is to show that we can do that and more than 570kmph...
France, and Alstom especially have the experience and the capacity to built incredible fast train like this one and as if ICE is a good train..not as the same level as tgv and Agv tech!

Creativ you will be credible when ice know how to do 500kmph and when we will have a demonstration! for this perf you must test to know if there is no problem and if your train can suport that! not the case of the ice at this time!

But TGV was a test train. Siemens wasn't. That is, what Wikipedia says in America. Siemens didn't modify their train. It's really in use. This train shown above was only one time in use. That's a big difference.

TGV can be use everyday at more than 400-450kmph but most part of the hight speed line were built in 1980 and 1988 they must be change to be at the new level of performance and SNCF must be interested..
